We are a Members' Club. Membership brings a number of benefits:
discounted table money
eligibility to win our special Club competitions
eligibility to win our League prizes
free and automatic membership of the Avon Contract Bridge Association (ACBA)
free and automatic membership of the English Bridge Union (EBU).
Visitors are welcome but anyone playing more than three times in a year will be invited to become a Member. To become a Member, you will need to complete a Membership Application form obtainable from the Membership Secretary, and two Members to propose and second you – normally a formality.
Membership fees are due annually on the 1st April. Membership runs from the 1st April to the 31st March, although a Member's subscription does not lapse until the 1st May.
The normal rate for Full Members who play regularly is £20 if renewed by the 30th April, or £25 thereafter. Concessions are available at the discretion of the Membership Secretary for players who live a long way from the Club and who only play on an occasional basis.
New Members will be charged a pro-rata rate in their first year, including a discount for any extra table money previously paid.
Players under the age of 25 are entitled to free Junior Associate Membership, which also exempts them from table money.
Life Membership is awarded at the discretion of the Committee, and is free.
